Thankful Tree

Hosting Thanksgiving this year? Here is a fun hands-on activity for your guest to do while they wait to feast. This activity is quick to assemble and can double as an inexpensive centerpiece.

Items needed:

  • mason jar or vase
  • leafless sticks to fit vase. We used sticks ranging 18-24 inches. Head outside and use what you can find!
  • pen
  • 1-2 sheets of construction paper
  • clothespins (can use string instead, use what you have available to you)

Create this interactive Thanksgiving centerpiece by placing sticks into a mason jar. Cut out leaves from construction paper (design your own or use our free printable template below!)

Invite your guests to write something they are thankful for on the leaves. Then, use clothespins to hang the leaves on the sticks. During the meal, go around the table and have your guest read what they put on their leaf. For a fun twist, have each person pick a leaf off of the tree and say one thing about the person who that leaf belongs to.
